Model RM-2 FSW - For Research and Development
This RM-2 Friction Stir Welding system is designed to provide up to 100kN spindle welding force at 800 mm/minute with a maximum of 3000 rpm. Coordinated axes can be provided for linear welding speeds up to 3000 mm/minute over a 4500mm maximum stroke. The welder incorporates a moving X-axis work table and a fixed gantry with a vertically mounted spindle on a Y-axis moving carriage. This video illustrates FSW equipment designed to weld linear seams on 5000, 6000, and 7000 Series Aluminum extruded plating, 3mm-20mm thick to in a production environment supporting the railway industry.
