Model GG-1 FSW - For Production Contract Welding Environment
This GG-1 Friction Stir Welding system is designed to provide up to 67kN (15,000 lbf) spindle welding force at 1800 mm/minute with a maximum of 3000 rpm. Coordinated axes can be provided for linear welding speeds up to 1800 mm/minute over a 4000 mm (157.5 in.) maximum stroke. The welder incorporates a moving X-axis gantry that carries a Gimble along the Y-axis and can traverse the Z-axis at any point within the 2743 mm (108 in.) machine bed. The spindle is housed within the Gimble, has a 100-3000 rpm range, and articulates in a 0-100 degrees Angle, 0-365 degrees Rotation, and unlimited rotation Tilt Positioner—accommodating virtually any common geometric shape or surface. The GG-1 FSW welder includes a water-cooled Tool Holder and Recirculator, complete with a water thermocouple and air purge system, designed for aluminum applications and six tool registration capability in the tool change set. The user-configurable DAQ system meets the needs of complex contour FSW work, covering all process parameters and additional, available inputs for thermal data collection. This machine provides two machining zones for safer operation, monitoring any motion or disturbance around the machine.
